The couple, known for their on-screen chemistry in films such as Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani, and 83, shared the news of their daughter's arrival in a heartfelt joint post on Instagram. "Welcome Baby Girl! 8.9.2024," the post read, marking the special occasion.
Deepika, 38, and Ranveer, 39, were spotted at a private hospital in Mumbai a day prior to their daughter’s birth. The couple had previously announced Deepika's pregnancy in February, with rumours swirling earlier in the year after she was seen covering her midsection at the 77th BAFTA awards, sparking speculation.
Just before the baby’s birth, Deepika and Ranveer were seen offering prayers at the Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai, seeking blessings from Lord Ganesha on the eve of Ganesh Chaturthi. The timing of their daughter's arrival, coinciding with the festival dedicated to Lord Ganesha, added an extra layer of significance and celebration to the joyous event.
